movie links will not open in internet explorer 7

for some reason internet explorer 7 will not open media player or quick time
or any movie player when a link is clicked at a website other than ones that
rely on adobe flashplayer. what setting is there that's preventing it from
working or will make it work? thanks in advance for help.

Re: movie links will not open in internet explorer 7

Go to Control Panel, Go into Default Programs and set your media player
defaults there - not through the actual programs themselves.. i.e.:
quicktime and windows media player. It shouldn't be this way, but in
Vista, it IS that way. A pain, I know, but it works... maybe sp1 will
solve the issue. If you don't know how to do this, please reply, and I
will provide more detailed instructions.
