Vista - AERO not working

Running Dell 8400 (P4 3.4 GHz) with NVIDIA GeForce 6800 video card
(Directx10). I tried all the suggestions that microsoft wants you to try:

AERO does not automatically engage, I press the windows key and the tab key
and the windows tile like they suppose to and start cycling through really
fast. When I let go of the keyboard keys one of the windows will be
displayed. any suggestions?

Hello Glumby,

Next to the Start, on the task bar, click on Switch between windows, now,
roll the wheel in your mouse to review your open pages.

THANKS!! I was hoping it was something simple. That did the trick.
