What's there to celebrate? The Patriot Act? Illegal wiretapping?
Torture? Illegal detentions in the USA and in places like Romania?
Guantamano? Holding people for years without trial or charges? Abu
Ghraib? Oil at over $70 a barrel? The dollar at an all time low? The
highest amount of death penalties carried out, only second to China?
Over 40 million US citizens who don't have health insurance?

Good points all, but I celebrate the fact I have a day off of work!

Well, alias, as terrible as you might think things are, the fact remains
that we CAN celebrate our independence, and for that we need to remain
thankful. For all the country's ills, it is OUR country. We have, as a
nation, figured things out over all the many past years of existence,
and we will, as a nation, continue to figure things out as we move
further into this century. On this day, please take your pissing and
moaning elsewhere. Thanks.

Tell that to the prisoners who are "celebrating" being detained without
charges for years. Tell that to the millions of Americans that have no
health insurance. Tell that to the families whose loved ones have been
unfairly executed. Tell that to ...

That makes it right?

For the first time in my life, I have to hide the fact that I am a US
Citizen while living overseas, all due to the horrible things that Bush
has done since he got in office and you want me to take my pissing and
moaning elsewhere? Remove your Pollyanna rose colored glasses and look
at reality on this auspicious day instead of trying to shut me up with
your FUD.

Re: OT Happy Birthday America, July 4th, 1776-2007 !!!

"I have to hide the fact that I am a US Citizen"
And this after your constant praises about where you live?
If I had to hide such a fact, I would move.
I suppose it is a shame that the people where you live will blame
others for issues clearly beyond their control.
However if you value how they favor software laws more than the people
there value others, then you must live with the choice you made.

"trying to shut me up with your FUD."
No one tried to do that . that is "FUD" of your own
A civil request was made of you and you chose to ignore it.

To bad you can not take the original post for what it is and instead
feel the need to twist it to suit your political agenda.

Happy Independence Day Alias.

Fu*k you you piece of sh*t American traitor!
I still think you're hiding from the American authorities. You've proly
got wants & warrants out for your arrests I bet. When spain breaks out
in civil war...which could be very soon ...you'll not be able to hide
your chicken sh*t a*s over here.
Foreigners might hate bush but they don't hate Americans per se.
Of course, you're too stupid to understand that fact.
Go screw yourself!
Happy 4th of July America!
