To see new posts you have to refresh or get new headers. The exact method and term varies from application to application. Also remember that posts to newsgroups are very different than a web page that has a static location where everybody goes to the same URL to read the content. In newsgroups there is a network of news servers that peer with each other with them constantly exchanging copies of posts the others don't have. So if you get some email that somebody responded and you don't see it in the newsgroup yet and you've got new headers, could just be it hasn't arrived on YOUR news server yet. How long that process takes depends on your news server, who it peers with the source of the reply and general network conditions. The time a new post shows up on some other news server can vary from a few seconds to hours, and in extreme cases even show up days later and rarely not at all for a host of reasons. Most application allow you to sort how headers appear. You can use threaded view where all posts in a single thread automatically get linked to each other (easy to find replies this way) to sorting by date, author, etc.. |

| | Re: Can't find response to question You are posting via the awful WEB (CDO) interface and most of the time it will create this issue. Set up your newsreader for newsgroups. Are you using Vista or XP ? Your questions have been answered and if you do not find them with searching for your name then set up Windows Mail or Outlook Express depending if you have Vista or XP to be your newsreader. -- Peter Please Reply to Newsgroup for the benefit of others Requests for assistance by email can not and will not be acknowledged. If so, try using Windows Mail to access the Vista NG's. In Windows Mail one can select "View | Current View | Show replies to my messages" and, voila! there are the replies to your msgs. Lang |
