Vista - Media Player Encoder

after running media player for a while a keep getting A box saying the
windows media player encoder has stopped working, when i click close
programme it gives me a bubble saying the DEP needs sorting out but when i
try the DEP on the encoder file it says i cant do it. i have just recently
shared a secondry drive and media server accross a network for my PS3 and had
to use DEPs to get that to work correctly - i do not know if this make a
difference

Do you get any information about this error in the Problem Reports and
Solutions center?

No, just to change the DEP. i have just had re-install due to hardware
failiure and seems to have gone away, must have been a problem on the old
hard drive
