Sound Cards

I still have NOT been able to get good sound with the system I have Vista
installed on. I know it is an old system and other than sound Vista runs
very well. Drivers <or updates> are no long available for the sound card I
have and the on-board sound is the older AC-97 which I understand Vista does
support either.

A while back, someone posted that they had the Creative Labs Audigy 4 card
and it was working very well. The issue is they did NOT say which version
of Audigy 4. There are several Audigy 4 cards ranging in price from $30-
$275. My understanding was the drivers for the Audigy 4 are on the update
page for Vista.

With the system being as old as it is, I do NOT want to invest in the high
end card until I get a new system. If anyone knows which of the Audigy 4
cards do work, I would certainly appreciate knowing. Thank you
