| | Anytime Upgrade I currently use Vista Home Premium on a desktop and Vista Business on a laptop. I am thinking of purchasing an anytime upgrades to take both to Vista Ultimate. The versions I use now are currently both OEM. Now if I purchase the upgrade will I get a Vista Ultimate OEM key or is it a retail key so if one of my PCs die I can use the new key so avoid the OEM issues. And if I have to reinstall the PCs that I currently have OEM versions installed on do I have to install the version on the DVD first and then do the upgrade or when I install just install and use the new key? |

You would get a retail product key. And yes, you would have to reinstall the original OEM version of Vista before using the Anytime Upgrade DVD. -- Carey Frisch Microsoft MVP Windows - Shell/User ---------------------------------------------------------------------------Â*----- "salesguy" <mudshuvel@suscom.net> wrote in message news:54CD35BE-6CA4-4CB5-9DC0-1FF8B7BAEC13@microsoft.com... | | Re: Anytime Upgrade Word of caution here. If you need to re-install, you must first install the original OEM version which is limited to a particular machine. Once installed, you run the upgrade installation. (Yep, install twice.)
