Impossible Create PDFs. I HATE VISTA

I have installed Macromedia Freehand MX 11.02. If you don't switch off your
computer you can go to print, select PDF file (I have ACROBAT PRO) and print
the document in a regular PDF.

If you switch off, go home, have lunch and come back to work, when you start
Vista again and run Freehand you loose your "read and write permissions" !
You need to uninstall FH, remove all details in the Registry (the uninstall
process is not realllly complete!) and install FH again. Everything is ok
    until you restart your OS.

I need to work. I'm not playing. Please help

Sadly, according to their Web site, they have no plans to update their
product to support Vista properly, instead suggesting that you buy their
newer Illustrator CS3 product. However, they WILL continue to sell it since
they know it has a loyal customer base.

This is from their Web page - I ain't making it up:

Sounds like you're mad at the wrong folks here.

    Hi,

Sorry but it could be a bad news based on the following from Adobe site:

No updates to FreeHand have been made for more than four years, and Adobe
has no plans to initiate development to add new features or to support
IntelR based Macs or MicrosoftR Windows Vista? operating systems.

    URL: http://www.adobe.com/products/freehand/

Or you could try their forum and see if there are some workarounds:

Here's a workaround, if you have Vista Business, Enterprise or Ultimate (ie,
not Home). Download the free Virtual PC 2007 from Microsoft:

    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/pro...c/default.mspx

Install Virtual PC on your Vista machine. Then create an XP virtual machine
("VM"), to run on Virtual PC. This wil give you a "virtual" XP machine
running inside a window on your Vista desktop (you will need an XP CD for
    this).

Now install Freehand in your new XP virtual machine ("VM").

Freehand is no longer maintained by Adobe and it will never be updated to
run on Vista. By running it in an XP VM, you get most of the advantages of
running it as an application on Vista - you can move files back and forth,
you can cut-n-paste to your Vista applications etc. Virtual PC is intended
to handle exactly this kind of compatibility scenario.

The main limitation is that theVirtual PC has a S3 Trio video card with 8MB
video RAM - fine for 2D graphics, but cannot run 3D graphics.

    Hope it helps,

PDF Factory claims to be Vista compatible. I haven't used it in Vista but I
know several people who use it in XP and are very happy with it.

    http://www.pdffactory.com/products/pdffactory

There is also a free addon for Office 2007 that will create .PDF files from
    Office documents.

Have you thought of OpenOffice.org? It has very good support for making
PDF files of whatever you create.

Bullzip PDF Printer works fine with Vista. I had always been happy with PDF
Creator, but no Vista version was in sight last time I looked, and Bullzip
is here and as far as I can is every bit as good. From:
