Here's a workaround, if you have Vista Business, Enterprise or Ultimate (ie,
not Home). Download the free Virtual PC 2007 from Microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/pro...c/default.mspx
Install Virtual PC on your Vista machine. Then create an XP virtual machine
("VM"), to run on Virtual PC. This wil give you a "virtual" XP machine
running inside a window on your Vista desktop (you will need an XP CD for
this).
Now install Freehand in your new XP virtual machine ("VM").
Freehand is no longer maintained by Adobe and it will never be updated to
run on Vista. By running it in an XP VM, you get most of the advantages of
running it as an application on Vista - you can move files back and forth,
you can cut-n-paste to your Vista applications etc. Virtual PC is intended
to handle exactly this kind of compatibility scenario.
The main limitation is that theVirtual PC has a S3 Trio video card with 8MB
video RAM - fine for 2D graphics, but cannot run 3D graphics.
Hope it helps,
