Norton on Vista

d have just started to use Vista and each time I switch on a box comes up
telling I should use Norton. I don't want Norton and its reminders and would
like to remove it from my system but cannot see how to do it.

Would someone out there please advise me?

Many thanks in advance.

M

You can uninstall Norton if your not going to use it ever
or use Windows defender to disable it from
startup.
Windows Defender | Tools | Software Explorer.

Re: Norton on Vista

Go to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
If there are problems, Norton has a tool available to help remove
whatever may be left.
However Norton products are notorious for being difficult to
completely remove as well as leaving components behind.
A few of the many reasons many will not touch anything
Norton/Symantec.

The above is a link to Symantec's Norton Removal Tool.

Sometimes there is an uninstall on the Norton program in your Start>All
Programs> norton Security Centre> sub menu

Make sure that you disable Norton before trying to uninstall it.

Re: Norton on Vista

The seller of your computer put it on under the reciprocal contract
arrangement. Go Control Panel/Programs and Features to remove it.

Re: Norton on Vista

There is no Add/Remove in Vista. Its called Programs and Features now.

Re: Norton on Vista

Or simply "Programs" if the normal view is used.and then "Uninstall a
program".

Thank you for the correction.

"Norton" anti-virus?
"Norton" WinDoctor?
"Norton" DiskDoctor?
"Norton" who-knows-whatisit?

"Norton" covers a *lot*. Kindly _specify_ what you are refering to, when
chatting about "Norton".
