Vista - EIST

Hello to everybody,
In the BIOS, i did set the Intel(R) SpeedStep Tech item to ( ENABLED),
please, how can i anable the EIST in Windows Vista Ultimate?
my mobo is an Asus P5B Plus Vista E. and the processor is the E6420.

I believe that if you have enabled speed step in your BIOS, it is probably
already working, If you can't tell for sure, look at the control panel and
click "Administrative Tools" then click on "Services." Under the "Status"
listing, speed step should be listed as "running."

I have an Asus P5B Deluxe WiFi which is very similar to your board, and my
OS is XP Pro. When I enabled speed step in the BIOS it just started working,
but if you have your fans set to "quiet" you won't hear them speed up until
your CPU gets really hot.

From the Asus P5B Deluxe users guide
To use the EIST Feature:

1. Enter the BIOS Setup, On the Advanced Menu, highlight CPU Configuration,
then press “Enter.�
2. Set SpeedStep to “Automatic� and press “Enter.�
3. Press F10 to save your changes and exit the BIOS.
4. After computer restarts, right click a blank space on the desktop and
select “Properties� from the pop up menu.
5. When the display properties window appears, click the “Screen Saver� tab.

6. In the Power Schemes section, click the option window, then select any
option except Home/Office, Desktop or Always on.
7. At the bottom of the window click “Apply� then click Ok.
8. Close the Display Properties window
The EIST Feature will now slightly decrease the CPU internal frequency when
loading is low.

II thank you very much but I already knew this, unfortunately my operating
system is not XP but Vista Ultimate
that's why I have the problem.
In the BIOS the setup is ok,
i don't know how to find the correct "steps" in Vista because it is
different.

Excuse me , to avoid to be misunderstood, i have written "unfortunately"
only because the operating system is different for the setup.
I do like Windows Vista very much.
