internet explorer shuts down

Why when I am on the net internet explorer shuts down and restarts? I don't
think I have any viruses. It just shut down not often but if it running
without me doing anything it restarts. I have a E521 Dell if this helps 2
gigs of ram 320 gigs of hd space. thanks for the help.

Hi wjk310,

Have you installed any IE7 addons or activeX items right before this started? If yes, then you might try disabling them one by one to see which one is the culprit from the Control Panel (Classic View) > Internet Options > Programs tab > Manage add-ons button.

Re: internet explorer shuts down

- go to control panel>internet options> advanced tab> click reset.
- uninstall the internet explorer
- reinstall it (i think it automatically installs after restarting)
- use another browser like firefox or opera.

Re: internet explorer shuts down

Hi,

1. You may have an incompatible browser add-on.
See: http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/troubleshoot.asp
for troubleshooting information.

2. Try the Reset button in Internet Options> Advanced. Note that this will
delete stored (autocomplete) passwords. Do you have those recorded
elsewhere? (Many users don't.)

If resetting IE settings helps, you may still have to re-enable browser
add-ons individually to see if the troublesome one can be found.
See: http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/troubleshoot.asp

What Reset IE Settings will do...

3. This may be a malware problem- adware, spyware, hijacker, trojan, etc.
See these sites for help:
