Hi wjk310, Have you installed any IE7 addons or activeX items right before this started? If yes, then you might try disabling them one by one to see which one is the culprit from the Control Panel (Classic View) > Internet Options > Programs tab > Manage add-ons button. | | Re: internet explorer shuts down Hi, 1. You may have an incompatible browser add-on. See: http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/troubleshoot.asp for troubleshooting information. 2. Try the Reset button in Internet Options> Advanced. Note that this will delete stored (autocomplete) passwords. Do you have those recorded elsewhere? (Many users don't.) If resetting IE settings helps, you may still have to re-enable browser add-ons individually to see if the troublesome one can be found. See: http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/troubleshoot.asp What Reset IE Settings will do... 923737- How to use Reset Internet Explorer Settings (RIES): http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737/en-us 3. This may be a malware problem- adware, spyware, hijacker, trojan, etc. See these sites for help: The Parasite Fight http://www.aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm Dealing with Unwanted Spyware and Parasites: http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm Malware Removal and Prevention Overview - CastleCopsWiki: http://wiki.castlecops.com/Malware_R...tion:_Overview Bugs, Glitches & Stuffups: http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/Darnit.html Removing Malware: http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/...moving_Malware Hope this helps, Don [MS MVP- IE] "wjk310" <wjk310@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:EEAA7679-1ADC-4635-8CA3-4D357FA08D50@microsoft.com... > Why when I am on the net internet explorer shuts down and restarts?
