Need to re activate after nvidia update

    Need to re activate after nvidia update

    This morning my computer updated an nvidia sata controller. Twice, because i
    have two sata drives.



    Now Vista wants me to reactivate because of hardware changes.

    When I continue with the activation process I'm told that number is already
    in use.

    Typing in my product key from the (legal) software gives the same result.

    How can I get this error corrected? (in the next 3 days!)

    Richard;
    Select the option to activate by phone.
    Call Microsoft at the displayed number, normally done in less than 10
    minutes.

    Thanks, phone activation resolves the problem

    Thanks for your answer to this problem. Phone activation was easy and solved
    the problem. Activation window is from right click of computer icon, then
    choose properties... ( i didn't know where to find it at first...)

    I am not impressed with Microsofts support of disabled customers in this
    area. I suffer with Social Anxiety amongst other things, the last thing I
    need is being force to pick up the phone to activate windows because
    Microsoft decided to update my pc with this unasked for update.

    This is a serious problem for me, and not one I had expected to occur until
    the next hardware upgrade which is a long way off. Now I have to cope with
    extreme anxiety just thinking about phoning before I am finally able to force
    myself to do so.

    Thank you Windows Update and Microsoft for literally ruining my day.

    Have you tried to contact Microsoft Product Support about this problem?

    Microsoft is very sensitive to users with disabilities. Go to the following
    website and select the version of Vista that you have installed.

    You will be taken to a website that has Email and Online Chat options to
    contact customer service. Explain the problem you are having and I'm sure
    they will be able to help.
