Vista Install & Outlook 2007 & Excessive Accessing of Hard Drive

Since I installed Window's Vista Home Premium and Office 2007, I have
encountered two major issues:
1. Outlook is completely sluggish and often does not respond. The characters
lag unbearably behind the typing an email.
2. In general, the computer excessively accesses the hard drive; it seems to
be over indexing.
Are there any actions I can take to correct these issues?

Re: Vista Install & Outlook 2007 & Excessive Accessing of Hard Dri

Specs: I got these from the "Properties" selection under the right-click of
the computer icon on the desktop. Is this all you need?

Processor: Genuine Intel(R) CPU T2050 @ 1.60GHz 1.60GHz

Memory (RAM): 2046 MB

System type: 32-bit Operating System

Thanks for any help!
