RE: How can i change the icon of the drive

Not all icons can be changed , if you l/click on the icon > select
"Properties' if the option to change icon is shown you can change , other
wise changing the icon is not allowed.

Re: How can i change the icon of the drive

The Western Digital "My Book" comes with an autorun.inf file. After initial
setup, it will contain the following 2 lines:

[autorun]
ICON=AUTORUN\WDLOGO.ICO

This file, and/or the subdirectory AUTORUN may have been deleted or
modified if you don't see the WD logo anymore.

1. Check that the file autorun.inf exists. Note that it is a hidden file.
If it doesn't exist, recreate it.
2. Check that the AUTORUN folder exists. If it doesn't, recreate it.
3. Create or use any icon (*.ico) file you like for the icon. You can
either replace
the original file or change the 2nd line to point to the file you would like
to use.

Note - Use of an autorun.inf can be used for a variety of USB / Firewire
devices to give a visual queue of what's what.
