| | How to access Documents and Settings I'm an admin on my Vista Ultimate box. When I try to access the Documents and Settings folder, I get an Access is denied error. I then change the security so admin has full control over this folder. I click OK and get this error: An error occured while applying security information to: C:\Documents and Settings Access is denied I'd like to view the contents of this and the c:\Program Data \Application Data folders. I get the same thing on the second folder. Any suggestions? Thanks, Brett |

"Documents and Settings" are not for you to use anymore so you should not mess with the permissions. They are junctions and are there for legacy applications. Look in the "Users" folder. Same thing with the "Application Data" folder. Tim |

| | RE: How to access Documents and Settings Document and settings is not a real folder in VISTA. It is called a Junction and is only there to interface with leagcy programs. The data the used to be in this folder in XP is now in Users/<your user name>/ in Vista. -- Paul "brett" wrote: > I'm an admin on my Vista Ultimate box.
