| | Help on How to Enable Sata Raid on Sony Vaio laptop Please! Hello All. My Girlfriends mum had a problem with one of the two hard drives on her laptop. She took it to PC world who remove the Faulty hard drive and disabled the raid sata. So the laptop would only see one drive. We have now bought a new drive and want to go back to having 2 drives. Please can someone tell me how to enable sata raid again? I thought it may of been in the bios setting but I can not see it in there! Would be grateful of any help received. Laptop is a Sony Vaio, running windows vista. The bios is phoenix. Many Thanks. Paul |

| | Re: Help on How to Enable Sata Raid on Sony Vaio laptop Please! More than likely, the SATA RAID is controlled by your SATA controller and it's boot ROM. You should see a boot screen and instructions on how to enter the the setup such as CTL+C or CTL+A, depending on the manufacturor. Once in the setup program follow the on screen instructions, but be aware ... this is not for the feint of heart, and you will loose all data on both drives so be sure to backup and then restore. The caveate here is that the nerd platoon that "repaired" the system may have disabled the boot ROM in the BIOS. Gary G.
