Vista - "Problem with this website's security certificate"

On two occasions recently, while trying to login to secure websites via IE,
I have encountered the "There is a problem with this website's security
certificate" screen. It says "This organization's certificate has been
revoked. Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you
or intercept any data you send to the server. We recommend that you close
this webpage and do not continue to this website."

As far as I can see, there is no way to bypass this screen and carry on to
my orginal destination (ssuming I trust the website despite this warning and
take my chances). How can I bypass this screen?

Can you contact the people who run the site either through e-mail or by
phone?

The first time this happened, yesterday, I tried to contact the company by
email. I am still awaiting a reply. It was a company that looks very
reputable to me, although I have not done business with them before.

However, the same thing happened again this morning, when I was trying to
deal with another company that I have dealt with previously many times,
successfully. So it looks as if some configuration change has been made
inadvertently in my computer, although I can't imagine how that happened.

What's bugging me most is that I seem to have no option but to stop trying
to access the website. Surely there is a way to bypass this warning.

Any help will be much appreciated.

While I think the issue is at the website and not on your system, try using
System Restore to take you back to a time prior to when this began. While
System Restore is only meant to restore your settings and registry as of a
specific date and time, you should make sure your data is well backed up
before using this option.

Change IEs security setting to access the site - change setting back
afterwards. Keep in mind the "cerification" process is there for a
purpose!!

Phil, this just started happening to me as well and I was extremely
frustrated until I realized it was right after I installed Symantec's Norton
360! If this is the case for you (or possibly a different "flavor" of
Symantec Security), Go to Tools > Manage Add Ons > Enable or Disable Add Ons.
From there, you can then click "Publisher" to group the Symantec Add On's
together and then Disable them. Close and Restart IE and...I hope this does
the trick. I was pretty happy when it worked for me!
