| | Recycle bin /Not filling or emptying without REFRESH I am running Vista business, and recently my recycle bin dissapeared (not the first time). I right clicked desktop / personanlize / show recycle bin; and now when it is full it shows as empty unless I right click desktop and "Refresh"; then when it shows as full and I empty it, it will still show as full until I again "Refresh" the desktop. I tried a system restore to 2 separate points, only to get an error message "system restore was unsuccessfull. I have already done a clean install from an upgrade install. PLEASE, any help. Next step , "Windows XP". |

| | Re: Recycle bin /Not filling or emptying without REFRESH Try this. In Personalize > Change desktop icons, select the Recycle Bin icon and click on Restore Default (even if, and it probably is, already the default icon). If that doesn't work, try deleting the (hidden) "IconCache.db" file under C:\Users\(Your Name)\AppData\Local\ and restart your computer. A new one will be built automatically. Recycle Bin If you would like to replace the "Delete" option from Recycle Bin's right click menu so you do not have to worry about deleting the icon again, then look here for how to do it. | | Re: Recycle bin /Not filling or emptying without REFRESH I am 2 weeks vacation from the "Vista" machine. I will try deleting your suggestion on return. Terrible, but I wonder if all the enthusiasum I had for Vista is as lost on others as it is on me? "dean-dean" wrote: > Try this.
