Yup my post Vista & XP woes, still not working , only one way traffic

I read your post earlier, I was just feeling ornery and wanting to put a rant
in the main list of topics ... stirring the pot ya know, bump up the stats.
I just feel like it was completely irresponsible of MS to ignore the obvious
here ... pretty logos are nice, moving all the buttons around we can get used
to, but come on, how can you NOT think about resolving this??? Not one of
their tecchie geniuses thought of this ... if that's true, it's very sad

I normally don't reply if I don't have a solution but I have networked two XP
pro and 1 XP Home with 2 VISTA Home premiums with no problems at all. So it
is not inherently Vista or XP. I really didn't do anything special.

Well, thanks to Chuck for his answer to the problem ... and kudos to Network
Magic for being on the ball and solving obvious problems that Microsoft
doesn't seem to be able to conquer. They deserve the business for staying on
top, that's how it's done!!!!

I am not completely done setting this up, but so far it is quite impressive
in the way it completely takes over your network settings and puts it all in
a convenient screen where you can understand what you are doing and how to
make stuff work!!!!

www.networkmagic.com free 7 day full trial, I downloaded with no problems,
re-booted and it works just like back in the old days when XP worked. To me
it's worth the money

I have xp and vista same network no issues so who knows what ur problem is.

I appreciate yours and everybodys help and suggestions, i'm just wondering
if a clean re-install of XP might help just in case something somewhere is
corrupt , the Vista was a new clean install so that should be ok, nothing to
lose everything to gain ! possibly

I'm very happy it works for you although I'm still reluctant to purchase a
software for something that windows already does. It was just a matter of
fixing it in your case cause everyone that I have talked to so far sais they
have no problems networking windows vista and xp together.
