RE: printer and usb drivers

You have not stated which model printer you have, unless it is one of the
very latest you will need to install Vista compatible drivers.
In device manage > printer Properties >select to reinstall driver , also
carry out the same action for you USB.
Click on link for inst'ns:
http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Win...2c6441033.mspx
With the USB have you tried unplugging and then reinsert?

RE: printer and usb drivers

The printer model is cannon mp180. I have down loaded and installed the
vista compatible driver. I have also spoken to Cannon multiple times
(installed and uninstalled multiple times the printer driver but same result.
(I originally had a lexmark and had the same problem so i upgraded to
cannon). I keep getting an error to install the driver for my USB receivers
(x4) and to down load the driver for the printer. I have looked at the
device manager and according to the device manager all my drivers are up to
date, but I still get the same message to down load the driver for the usb
port. Windows is unable to down load the driver for the usb port for the
printer and remember that the driver software has been down loaded and
installed. I am so frustrated. ah!

Re: printer and usb drivers

It is the all in one printer MP180. The problem is my computer does not seem
to recognise the usb ports. I can install the software not a problem but the
computer can not find the driver. When I plug the USB cable in windows is
unable to do a generic install to run the usb port to the printer. I.E the
computer does not understand that the printer has been installed connected
and turned on. If you go to the print que it says that it is printng but the
cannon software says that it is off line?

Any suggestions
