how to setup ftp?

I have been around the help files and cannot find what I am looking for. I
want to setup an FTP connection to my webspace in the network connections
like I used to be able to in XP.
I cannot see anything relating to setting up ftp in there in the network
centre.
I have checked the help files and only found this "If you want to transfer
files to and from a computer on the Internet, set up a File Transfer
Protocol (FTP) site on your computer." Thats very unhelpful as it doesn't
say where. I have filled in the form to say it was unhelpful and it needed
more information.
Can anyone help me please?

Re: how to setup ftp?

The simplest way to ftp is to open ie7 and type in the address dialog, the
location you want to get the files.

For example: ftp://<user @domain>

Where user is the login name and domain is the location for example
microsoft.com. It'll prompt for a password.

Is this any help?

Thanks. I was hoping to test built in FTP like they had in XP. I have no
real reason to use it at the moment, just trying my best to test out the
features and look for nasties.

Open My Computer, Right-click in an open space in the window. Select "add
network location". The rest is what you've probably been accutomed to in
XP.
