| | Re: create shortcut? In Control Panel\Network and Sharing Center, click on "View full map". When the Control Panel\Network Map window pops up, drag the icon in the Address box to your Desktop (or wherever you want). You can also add Connect To and Network to your Start Menu by right-clicking the Start button and choosing Properties > Customize, but that may not be exactly what you want. Icon in the address box? If you mean the details pane at the foot of the window as is on most windows, it isn't visible on Control Panel of Networks & sharing or 'view full map' - so I have nothing to drag. Mick -- |

| | Re: create shortcut? No, I mean in the box to the right of the Back and Forward buttons, or to the left of your Search box, at the top of your window. The icon is to the left of the Control Panel>Network Map text. You can also right-click that box, and choose Copy Address, and then, with you Desktop in focus, right-click an empty spot and choose Paste Shortcut. But dragging and dropping the icon is faster. A tooltip, as you drag it, will explain what you are doing. | | Re: create shortcut? Great. This might be a Duh at this point, but you can create a shortcut (if it has an address) to any Windows Explorer or Control Panel window, by dragging the icon. If you drag the address icon in Internet Explorer, it creates a shortcut to the page you are on.
