Changing Sidebar background color...

Is there a way to change the background color(s) on the Vista Sidebar? Mine
fades from transparent to black, and I'd rather have it all transparent or
fade to a different color on my white background. Any ideas, perhaps editing
the XML file?

Thanks in advance,

PJ
