Missing files

A program I am trying to install needs to reference a module in the
Windows\system32\DriverStore\FileRepository folder. This DriverStore folder
is empty on my computer (which is running Vista Home Premium). Is there a
way to restore the missing files?

The Windows\system32\DriverStore folder should be far from empty. Are you
sure this is the case? On my computer, the DriverStore folder has almost
9000 files in 595 folders. I don't think, either, that the System File
Checker will restore those files. Can you re-install Vista, using the
Upgrade option? This will maintain your user settings and programs. See
