| | How is my windows not genuine? I bought an HP Pavilion a1737c. Now today, my memory kept running out so my computer kept turning off. Now I'm trying to log back in and it tells me my Windows Vista isn't genuine. I have reformatted once with the HP Recovery discs I was sent. They do not have a serial number. What am I supposed to do? |

| | Re: How is my windows not genuine? Make sure your installed version of Windows Vista is activated. Follow this procedure: You can get started with phone activation by typing "slui.exe 4" (w/o the quotes) in the Start Search box in the Start Menu and pressing Enter. The phone activation process takes about 6 minutes. Note: The "Start Search" box is located right above the Vista blue start button when you click on it. -- Carey Frisch Microsoft MVP Windows - Shell/User ---------------------------------------------------------------------------Â*----- "Bharneck" wrote: I bought an HP Pavilion a1737c. | | Re: How is my windows not genuine? Hi Alias, I tried it for about a year, and gave up. It's absolutely horrible. The user interface was written by a non-human apparently. The name pretty much describes the UI it provides. I guess that is where the name came from. Why would anyone want to open up N windows anytime they open an app, and then have to wait forever for them to come up, only to get an app this is a pita to use? -- Larry Maturo "Alias" <aka@masked&anonymous.li> wrote in message news:%23$kDz$G0HHA.4916@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > Bharneck wrote: >> Can't run Photoshop.
