| | IE7 and TABS I have read things on this but I really need to find an Answer..... No Mater what settings are in IE7 Tab Browsing Control are set to every URL whether it is a link, a typed in url, a shortcut what ever it always opens in the same tab.....Never opens a New Tab or even anew window even when REUSE Windows is not Checked in the Advanced Tab of the Tools.... This just started for no reason, Have extinguished all my Ideas, knowledge and strenght...and ready to go get drunk and forget putting this machine together... I have read everything on this subject and God only knows how many are having the same problem but from all kinds of threads in at least the 6 categories I looked in...been reading for 2 hours and no answers.... PLEASE MS GODS HELP ME..... |

PLEASE MS GODS HELP ME..... Follow along with me at this link as a guide. Sometimes the link will direct how they will open in IE7. Internet Explorer - Tabbed Browsing On step 5, make sure you have these two dotted: 1. Always open pop-ups in a new tab. 2. A new window - or - A new tab in the current window. If this doesn't work, then try clicking the "Reset' button in Tools > Internet Options > Advanced. Don't forget to enable your addons afterwards. Hope this helps, Shawn |

I have found that this behaviour is different on IE7 on XP on my Thinkpad laptop to my desktop computer running Vista. The Vista machine works fine, but the XP one reuses tabs for clicked links. I think it works okay on my Win2003 server as well. Sorry, i don't have an answer, but you might have better luck in the IE newsgroup: news://microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general ss. |
