The XO project is highly questionable. It may never be a success. Gates has more realistic views, and he actually does something useful. One of the schools in my vicinity here in Germany has been equipped by his foundation, and that's an immediate success, for which the students are clearly grateful. If you ship $100 computers into developing countries, they will predictably not fulfill most of their promises, for a whole range of reasons. How much time have you spent in developing countries?
