| | Right Click Crash IE 7 Every time I right Click in my favourites pane, IE7 crashes. For that matter, in every aspect of Vista, whenever I right click it takes ages for the menu to appear and all I get is that circle swirly circle. When I have several tabs open and IE7 crashes, I lose every one of them when it restarts. And CD burning in windows? Forget it. But that's a seperate question. |

| | Re: Right Click Crash IE 7 Windows Explorer crashes can be largely attributed to non-OS 3rd Party shell extensions. Sometimes the extensions are obvious, sometimes not. An obvious extension is a when a program adds an item to the right-click context menu (which list varies depending on what you are right-clicking). Some of these 3rd Party extensions work fine, some do not. An example of a not so obvious shell extension is when a program adds thumbnail preview capabilities to certain file types, putting it on a collision course with Explorer's thumbnails creation. (You can test that one out by turning off Explorer's thumbnails in Folder Options, and see if the crashes continue.). Too, 3rd Party control panel items can also cause problems. Sometimes a program will give you the option as to whether or not it adds an item to the context menu in the program's Tools/Options/Preferences). I'd head in that direction first, to troubleshoot.
