| Guest | changing open folder icon in vista I had a registry fix for this once and lost it... When you are in regedit especially, or using the folder view in explorer... the closed folder icon and open icon are the same. In regedit when you are searching for something it makes it very hard to see which thread you are viewing since the icons are the same. Any one know of the tweak to fixing this is? Thanks Mark |

Thanks Mark There is a program called "Vista Manager" that will allow you to change the open and closed folder icons and a whole lot more. You can download a free 15-day fully functional trial version here. Tweak and Optimize your Windows Vista - Vista Manager Hope this helps, Shawn |

| Guest | Re: changing open folder icon in vista I found the tweak... Regedit: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Shell Icons] "4"="C:\\windows\\system32\\Shell32.dll,137" You have to make a new key of Shell Icons if its not there.. and then a new string value of 4 and it works great.
