Office 2007 - Please insert Windows Disk error

Hello

I baught Office 2007 Home and Student a few weeks ago and everything went
well, but yesterday I had trouble with my PC which had to resulted in a
reinstall of Windows

After I had put everything back onto the PC I went to install Office, which
when fine, and also the updates from Windows Update, but once I opened
PowerPoint all I got was "Please Insert Windows Disk" eorror messages so I
logged off, and then on again and the problem went but just for safty I
removed Office and then reinstalled it

Could I please ask what may have caused this error message please, I havn't
seen a Windows Disk error message since windows 98

Thank you
K86

When you install all the files to run parts of the program may not be loaded
by default, Re install and chose Custom install. Carefully click each
segment and make sure it runs from computer and not from disk. If you have
bags of room on your HD just click the top of the tree and make all segments
from from computer, if not make sue PowerPoint gets all it needs.

Re: Office 2007 - Please insert Windows Disk error

Hello K86--

Do me a favor. Are you sure the error is "Please insert Windows Disc"? Can
you check the exact wording, because with Office it's not unusual to see
errors that say "Please insert [a specific] Office disc.

I assume whatever trouble you had you remedied by *formatting the box, and
reinstalling Vista. I've seen these type errors when an older version of
Office was still on the box.

Also have you run the Diagnostics program for Office from say, Word if you
can open up Word or any other Office 2007 application if you can't open up
PP?

Also check in Event Viewer and see what Office errors you can dig up--type
eventvwr.msc in the run box and on the left pane>Windows Logs>Application
(probably)>scroll down for any Office or Power Point errors and then check
in System.
