Desktop window manager

I bought a new computer with windows vista premium about a month ago and
everything was working fine. But when I installed all new updates from
microsoft (I can't tell you exactly which one caused the problem) I started
to have a problem with vista. Now, when I restart my computer, the mouse
won't work in the central part of the screen just in the left part of the
screen, so if I need to select something or click something in that area it
won't work. I need first to end the desktop window manager process for the
computer to get back to normal. Another stupid things is that I cannot report
this error to microsoft.
Another problem was that vista came with a very useful (in my opinion) new
minimizing function. This is not working now in my computer as well. Any
ideas what I can do?

Thanks

Re: Desktop window manager

Go to the System and/or Motherboard Maker's, Video, Sound and so on
websites and up grade ALL drivers. Vista loves updated drivers.

Re: Desktop window manager

In Control Panel > Windows Update, click on View update history. Among
your latest updates, were any of them hardware or driver updates (that is,
non-KB********** updates)?

Rather than stop the Desktop Window Manager, try this after you first log
on. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del on your keyboard and open Task Manager. On the
Processes tab of Task Manager, if explorer.exe is running, right-click on it
and Choose End Process. If it doesn't restart automatically, switch to the
Applications tab, and from the File menu, choose New Task. Type
explorer.exe in the Run box, and press Enter on your keyboard.

If explorer.exe is not running on the Processes tab, switch to the
Applications tab, and from the File menu, choose New Task. Type
explorer.exe in the Run box, and press Enter on your key board.
