Vista - Issues with DCHP CLIENT

I am having an issue with what i beleive is the DHCP CLIENT service on my
laptop.

None of my network adapters be it wired or wireless are getting DHCP info
from the router automatically. I know its not the router because other
machines using the same router are getting assigned IPS and DHCP info
automatically. If i input settings manually into the adapters then i am able
to access the router and the internet.

I am getting the following error message from Windows Wireless Service:

The dependancy service or group failed to start.

i am unable to view any of the adapters in the network connections area.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the help.

the thing is that this router always worked with my network adapter but just
one day it just stopped.

I also have some more info here which i should have included in the original
post. When i go to DHCP Client properties and dependencies in services menu
i get the following:

in the top pane i see 4 items. 3 of them are drivers which dont appear on
the services list when i look for them to make sure they are on.

the 4th one os the nsi service. it appears as off on the services list with
a description of "Failed to read description, error code 998 and when i try
to turn it on it says windows cannot start it on the local computer and gives
this error message:

Error 193: 0xc1
