You're using a web interface to newsgroups so whether you can see
certain newsgroups or not depends on which "portal" you are using.
FYI I'm using a real NNTP newsreader with server msnews.microsoft.com

For convenience I'll cross-post to Vista General.
If your portal includes it you should be able to click on the
newsgroup name in the header of this message to enter it.

Ah. The OP's suggestion included a URL which would link you to that portal.
(Scroll to bottom of my reply to see that.) So you could click on that to enter
this thread, find this reply in it, and click on the link to the second newsgroup
name in it. (I've just done that. Apparently Vista newsgroups in that portal are
all grouped under a subfolder (instead of a newsgroup name): microsoft.public.windows.
So another alternative would be finding that subfolder link, expanding it
and then finding the newsgroup you want to open.)

Even better though, especially if you're going to be doing a lot of posting,
is to use a real newsreader. E.g. with default settings for both XP and Vista
you should be able to open a new NNTP news account by entering the
following URL in your Address bar:

news://msnews.microsoft.com/

You probably will want to do some personalizing of that account before posting.
