| | Re: Vista decoding of DVD???? I have tried using a number of programs to extract DVD's. On an Xp machine all works well. Ripit4Me, DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink. One hundred percent success. When these programs were installed on a Vista machine all went to pot. RipIt4Me gets the message drive not installed or locked. It is unable see or read from the drive. However, Explorer sees the drive. I then tried DVD Decrypter by itself. When it completed the job did not complete normally and the compression did not process end normally. If someone has found a solution to this problem. Please post your experiences. Thanks, |

| | Re: Vista decoding of DVD???? I have the x86 version of Windows Vista Home Premium. I have used the latest version of RipIt4Me (1.7.1.0) to successfully back up several DVDs. To get it to run properly, I have to right click on the executable or start menu shortcut and select "run as administrator". If I don't do that, it will crap out when it attempts to load DVD Decrypter. I have not personally tried DVD Shrink since installing Vista. Thanks, Hi, I use DVD Shrink on Vista Home Premium and it works ok. I use DVD43 instead of DVD Decrypter and it doesn't put an icon in the tray like it does in XP, but it works perfect. You can use Nero or Sonic if you have DVD43 installed.
