MVP's Can't you STOP the spammers?

It is absolutely ridiculous. We can't even ask a question and get a civil
answer without Spammers (in particular 'Alias') butting in. Can't you somehow
block their IP's from entering this forum?

This USED to be a nice, helpful place. What happened?

Just get use to it. MVP's are volunteers and have no authority to police
the group. Since this is open to the public, even the Linux zealots can
post whenever they want to.

Solution: use your newsgroup software filter feature. It will increase
the apparent s/n ratio!

But it'd really help if everybody would stop responding to them. They're
here because they get attention and if they stop getting that feedback
they'd go away or, at the very least, the group wouldn't be cluttered with
all the responses and back-and-forth name calling.

MVPs are not Microsoft employees. "MVP" (Most Valuable Professional)
is an honorary title for having provided consistently helpful advice
in the newsgroups and elsewhere. We have no ability to do as you
suggest.

Listen sweetie, it's obvious you know nothing. This isn't a forum, it
is a newsgroup. MVPs have zero authority and at best average knowledge
about the topics discussed here. Almost anyone can give you better and
more detailed answers to any question. Anybody can post here, even the
idiot Frank.

What happened? The fanboy crowd is pissed the truth about Vista gets
discussed and they can't counter that with their propaganda. That
tends to makes them twist and squirm and that causes their shorts to
get all bunched up, it also causes Frank to start foaming from the
mouth since he worships Microsoft. That plus a lack of fiber in their
diets and you see the result. Just sit back and enjoy the show. ;-)

I did notice that some political and Ubuntu messages were removed this
morning. So someone has the authority to do so.

There is censorship in that MS will occasionally remove posts from their
servers but the posts stay on all the others and on Google.

Many MVPs are a lot like Rev. Al Sharpton. A lot of bluster, little
anything else. While pretending to be a man of God, big Al's bio shows
he actually was a tour manager for the singer James Brown, is tight
with Michael Jackson and he worked with the boxing promoter Don King.
Why does he call himself a reverend? Sharpton was "licensed" and
"ordained" a Pentecostal minister at the age of nine.

Some MVPs love to boast and bellow too, they come up way short on
background. There are a few exceptions in the group of MVPs that hang
out here, that try to help but the majority are well, figure it out
for yourself. Other groups are more lucky and have more MVPs that
actually know something and aren't preoccupied with pontificating.

So honorary titles are what they suggest: useless. My summation is not
aimed at any particular MVP, who it applies to people can figure out
for themselves.

LOL!

Nothing like responding with an opening condescending sexist statement.
Makes everything that follows so worth while.
Craw back into you're little drunken enclave and have another one on all
of us georgie-boy.
