| Guest | Migrating Documents Folder from Xp Here's a problem I have with Vista. I generally always backed up my documents folder in XP. If I select everything in the My documents folder, a few XP system files get copied as well, mainly shortcuts to 'my music', 'my videos' and 'my pictures' and the desktop.ini files. I have found out that in Vista, if these files are in the documents folder (and you can't see them because they are hidden system files) that all burners I've tried will have a problem with this. They won't see all the folders and they will add 'my picures' etc folder to the files to be burned. Why did MS so this? I can just see all kinds of people have problems with this as I would think that most people back up the documents folder. Anybody else see this. I've doen the work around by viewing the system files and deleting them but those who aren't so computer literate are going to have problems. Timster |

Restore just puts then back. They are only copied as backup not removed. -- Ian |
