upgrading current pc to vista

I am going to be upgrading my current computer from xp media center to vista
home premium. Would it work if I were to use the easy transfer cable and
software to transfer all of my files to an external hard drive and then once
vista is installed transfer all the files back from the external hard drive?

If you just transfer My Documents and Favorites etc, OK but anything else
would probably not work in Vista.

Hi,

Yes, that is supported. You want to make sure your current system supports
Vista fully before upgrading.

Re: upgrading current pc to vista

Thanks for the information. I have one more question though. When I am
installing vista will I need to delete the windows xp partition on my hard
drive or can install windows vista right over it?

Re: upgrading current pc to vista

Hi,

You can install over it, the old installation will be moved to a windows.old
folder.
