Vista - Registry Problems

I recently tried to install a VPN client software. As it was running it gave
an error saying that there was a problem with writing to a location in the
registry.

I went to the registry location using regedit. When I clicked on the key, I
get the following error:

"Error Opening Key

Parameters cannot be opened.
An error is preventing this key from being opened.
Details: The system cannot find the file specified."

I clicked on other folders and didn't get that problem. I did find other
folders that I got the same error. What error could be preventing me from
opening this. I tried deleting this registry entry and didnt' let me.
Please help.

Reboot - then use Task Manager to make sure the install or program
file is not in memory then try.
