Can I change the default view scheme of Explorer?

I sometimes need to view a folder in 'Details' mode. but each and
every time I do it for a new folder which contains video files,
Explorer shows 'Name, Date Taken, Tags, Size, Rating', while what I
actually need is 'Name, Type, Size, Date modified'. I don't have a
video camera, and I don't make videos, so I won't ever need 'Date
Taken'. Plus I don't use Tags or Rating.

Of course I can manually change columns but it is tedious to do this
each time for new folders. The default view schemes are editable or
are they hard-coded so cannot be changed?

This is not the only reason I need to change the view schemes. For
example, the common Open File Dialog always shows video folders with
'Medium icons' but I need to view them in 'Large icons'. Currently I
manually change view settings for each folder...

Right click in the column header and choose who and what you want in you
columns from the drop menu.

RE: Can I change the default view scheme of Explorer?

Right click on the folder, select properties, then customize, then from the
pull-down menu select either all files or documents and check "also apply to
subfolders" if you want that.

Thank you for your answer. But that only means I can apply the 'same'
scheme
to all the sub folders. As you know, Windows chooses different schemes
for
folders with defferent file types. If I do so, this is no longer
applied.

So, basically, there's no way to change the default view schemes that
Windows Explorer chooses for different types of folders?
