itune trouble since Vista installed

Hi, I need some help, when I had XP and ran itunes I never had any problems,
then I bought a new pc with Vista home premium. itunes would not run at all,
I reactivated the vbscript, I udated directX, my Nvidia drivers, I deleted
and reinstalled itunes and quicktime. I even upgraded to Vista Ultimate
hoping it would work better than Vista HP did. I can open itunes but if I try
to play a video it skips and then freezes then I get a blue screen with a
memory dump. The same thing happens when I try to sync my ipod with itunes,
it freezes and then memory dump.
Windows maintenance says the error is from an antivirus program. I have
Nortons Internet Security, and I have actually deactivated this and tried to
work itunes without success. I am at my wits end I have downloads that I
cannot even download into my ipod because of this.

Re: itune trouble since Vista installed

Hi,

Try uninstalling NIS entirely, you wouldn't believe how much it can mess
with a system. Then grab symclean from Symatec's download site and run it to
clean out the remnants. Then retry your iTunes software, making sure you are
using the latest version from Apple.
