| | Is there a limit to the number of times VISTA OEM activation I have this OEM version of VISTA. It is Dell. I have had to update my IMSM from the Intel site and VISTA requested it to be activated again. I had to do it over the phone because the on line activation failed. This was two months ago. Few Days ago I did a clean installation of the same computer with the same disk and as expected vista needed activation. Only after activation I realised I needed to update the IMSM but this time I obtained this IMSM driver from Dell's site and I was able to activate on line. However when I went to check if it is Genuine it was not recognised as genuine. So I rolled back the IMSM driver to the old one and again activated the vista on line and went to check genuine: I was requested to install ? activeX-This I clicked ok. It then recognised it as genuine. Now for the second time uploaded the latest IMSM driver and had to activate the windows on line without any problem. Now when I checked if it is Genuine-It is recognised as genuine. This brought me to ask this question:? Is there a limit on the number of times I can Activate on the same computer. I may choose to do another clean installation or update the chipset driver on a later date. What would be my position? [ I will be doing all in the same computer] |

| | Re: Is there a limit to the number of times VISTA OEM activation There should be no problem, though you many again need to do telephone update, unless you replace the MOBO.
