| | Re: Delete back up files I contacted Gateway maker of laptop and they told me to pres f8 and do it there so that is what I did but ended up with a 7gb back up file how do I know if file is encrypted. I have ownership of file but still cant delete it. Also, I believe encrypted files have a different appearance when viewed in Explorer. Hence, if these files look the same as your other files and folders, I'd say encryption is not the issue. Do you have any Norton or other security software installed as it's possible you have some third party security software blocking the deletion and again, what backup software did you use to create these files. | | Re: Delete back up files i tried safe mode still the same. You need permission try again or cancel. I made the back up with vista restore after pressing f8, anti virus is avira turned it off and tried but still the same. Tried deleting it again says recycling then destination folder access denied you need to confirm this operation clicked continue the box comes up windows needs your permission clicked continue then says recycling then you need permission to perform this action try again or cancel press try again on and on but still there. | | Re: Delete back up files In as much as it seems to be trying to move the file to the Recycle Bin how about holding down Shift when trying to delete it thus avoiding the Recycle Bin operation??
