Boot the system, start tapping F8, at the menu choose Safe Mode and try deleting them once in Safe Mode. Another possible way would be to try navigating to the files using the Command Prompt and deleting them there. If all else fails, you could try simply overwriting these files with newly created backup files. That way the space isn't completely lost. Also, sometimes there's a means within a backup program to delete files. If it doesn't have a specific function to delete files, with the backup program opened, go to File, open, navigate to these files, right click a file, select delete and see if it will let you accomplish this task through the application that created them. -- Michael Solomon Backup is a PC user's best friend DTS-L.Org: http://www.dts-l.org/ |

Is this an encrypted file? That's the only other thing I can think of which might block all manner of deletion. You haven't mentioned which backup application you used to create these files. Were these created with Vista's Backup and Restore Center or were they created with some other application? -- Michael Solomon Backup is a PC user's best friend DTS-L.Org: http://www.dts-l.org/ |
