Are there updates available for use with older hardware

I recently acquired a new computer that has vista installed. I have tried to
install my digital camera and a simcard reader. Neither of which work. The
software seems to load but the hardware itself isn't being recognised. Are
there any updates for use with these items?

Check with the manufacturers' web sites.

Both my crystal ball and my tarot cards say you will have to go to the
***unknown*** manufacturers web sites to obtain this information.

Just to clarify Tom's response, drivers are the responsibility of the
hardware manufacturer. While some drivers may be available from Windows
Update they are supplied by the manufacturer and often the drivers from
Windows Update are outdated so it is always best to check the manufacturer's
website for the latest drivers compatible with your operating system and/or
to check to see if the manufacturer is supporting the specific hardware in
your current operating system.

The respective hardware manufacturers would certainly know.
