I think Vista has bricked my Laptop!

I installed vista ultimate 3 days ago on my laptop, Just now it shut down
randomly and now it will not boot.

When I press down the power button it comes on for maybe half a second and
then turns itself off again.

Any help please?

I'm sure this is going to sound stupid to you but check the power to the
laptop. It may have been running on battery and the battery is dead.

I seriously doubt that Vista (or any other OS) could cause the problem
you describe. It sounds more like a hardware issue.

In addition to the good suggestion by Vista User, it may be a heat
related problem. Since it's a laptop, make sure you are not blocking any
of the ventilation holes/slots. Maybe a cooling fan is defective. Or
maybe the power supply is bad or the CPU is bad or over heating.

Is power turning off or is the screen just going blank? If power is not
turning off (i.e. you can hear fans or the disk drive running), perhaps
the LCD is intermittent.
