| | Wireless gadget not working I have Windows Vista Ultimate and its great. I got a wireless gadget for my laptop and it stoped working one day. I also have Yahoo! Gadgets and have a wireless gadget in there and it works. I have tried many other wireless gadgets and they don't work either. Is there any way to repair Windows SideBar without repaing Windows Vista itself? |

| | RE: Wireless gadget not working All 3rd party gadgets are saved in %userprofile%\appdata\local\microsoft\windows sidebar\gadgets in a sub folder with the name of the gadget and a suffix .gadget Control that the files there are correct and exchange them with newer if you want. Gadgets are mostly made up by text files (gadget.xml and gadetname.htm) so you can in and check the code and verify. "animusic" wrote: > I have Windows Vista Ultimate and its great. | | RE: Wireless gadget not working I read from the Gadget gallery that Virtual PC 2007 interferes with the SideBar. I happen to have Virtual PC 2k7 installed on my computer. Is there any way that I can keep VPC2k7 installed and make the gadget work? |

| | RE: Wireless gadget not working See the gadgets as HTML, and I run Virtual PC 2007 and all my gadgets works. Virtual PC reads the WiFi data and probably your gadget too, so it is more likely there the problem is. Use RegMon and FileMon + audit to find out how they conflict "John Bryntze" wrote: > All 3rd party gadgets are saved in > %userprofile%\appdata\local\microsoft\windows sidebar\gadgets in a sub folder > with the name of the gadget and a suffix .gadget > > Control that the files there are correct and exchange them with newer if you > want. > > Gadgets are mostly made up by text files (gadget.xml and gadetname.htm) so > you can in and check the code and verify. > > > "animusic" wrote: > > > I have Windows Vista Ultimate and its great.
