Vista - Windows Mail is a disgrace

My message (shown below) for help sent a few days ago regarding Windows Mail
has been ignored.

'Anyone got any idea why my Windows mail program is so slow?
It takes half a minute for Windows Mail to open completely. My virus
checking software downloads messages before anything appears on the screen,
other than a blank Windows Mail window!

Is this because there is no solution to this? Windows Mail is getting even
slower - deleting a message takes about 7 seconds. This is ridiculous. I
since heard from others that they too are finding this email software
rubbish! Is there any other email software that can replace it?
