unwanted icons

I tried loading a program (Quicken) and then uninstalled it. I was left with
three icons on my desktop that I cannot remove. I have tried deleting and
moving but I always get a screen popping up that says unable to find. Any
ideas how to get rid of these icons?

Thanks

Re: unwanted icons

If you right-click a blank spot on your Desktop, and choose Refresh, do the
icons remain?

Re: unwanted icons

ken

This is caused by a Reg entry when you have installed Quicken. Instead having you go to the Reg and modify\delete the key I suggest that you re-install Quicken and on installation when it asks you Show Icons on Desktop you should not select it. After install delete those icons as you would normally and once deleted then go back and delete Quicken

I am hesitant to post the string in the Reg because you can mess up your system if not done correctly. I have seen this happen with a fair number of posters . The safest way without touching your Reg hive would be as I explained to you above. Unless you know your Reg then let me know and I will give you those keys that you can modify and delete
