Quicken 2007

I have a new problem with vista. When I go to update account data I get the
flag showing there are transactions to review and accept but when I go there
none appear. Also the symantec runs live update and says there are updates
available but none show up. I have been running both programs just fine for
well over a month. This problem just showed up 5 days ago. I have tried MS
help to no avail as well as intuit help which says it is a vista problem. Any
help or ideas?

With Quicken, this is an old problem. When I've run into it, I just
minimize that screen and then bring it up again. If that doesn't work, try
Intuit tech support. The last version with which I had this issue was
Quicken 2003. I don't recall seeing it in Quicken 2006. I'm not sure what
causes it but it has been an issue since Quicken became more integrated as a
mini browser of sorts, allowing you to access various Intuit online areas
through Quicken as opposed to through your browser.

The same is true for your Symantec software, this is their issue, not Vista
and appears to be one of compatibility.

Just to add to what I've already said, this appears to be a "refresh" issue.
Sometimes this can be resolved by a video card with a lot of physical ram,
256MB or more. If you have an onboard card with shard memory or a card with
a smaller amount of dedicated physical ram, this could be the problem. If
you resolve the problem in both cases by doing as I suggested by first
minimizing the screen and then restoring/maximizing it, refresh is the issue
and you need to take a close look at your graphics card as the possible
culprit as I've described.

I have not seen that. I had one issue with Vista and Quicken 2007 is
that it started asking I wanted to Allow or Dont Allow the program to
run. Started having other issues with Vista so for now I have gone
back to XP Pro. Was running Vista Ultimate.

Been running Quicken Basic 2007 with Vista Home Premium since February and
haven't had a problem at all with Quicken. It updates too just fine.

Steve, Intuit has some of the best user to user forums and you have a far
greater chance of resolving your issues with Quicken there than here. You
may have to do some digging or you might start a new thread. If you do, be
sure to give all the information, your hardware, other software installed,
what you've done, etc. Here's a link to the Quicken for Windows community:
http://www.quickencommunity.com/.efc99c0/

Also, in your response, you are now going beyond the scope of your original
post when talking about not being able to update. Nonetheless, you should
also describe that issue in your post to the Quicken forums as it may have
an impact on problems you may be having with Quicken.

If you want more help here with regard to Vista, you'll need to provide more
information, hardware, software, is it a clean install or did you do an
upgrade over XP, AV software, what firewall you are using, etc.

Michael, this is a clean install the computer is 6 weeks old. I realize that
I have now gone above and beyond my original thread. As I am find more out I
put it in here. Also I have discovered that all of my progrmas the I have
tried to update they will download the update but will not install them. The
programs tell me I have all the current updates but none are installed.
Thanks for your help I will open a new thread

Steve, what antivirus are you using. We have found both Norton Antivirus
and McAfee Antivirus as well as their respective security suites can
interfere with the process of application updates.

As stated previously, do take a look at the Quicken Communities to which I
posted. It's a user to user community and these folks really know the
product, many having a long history with it through multiple versions and
are very helpful.
