| | Problems with Vista Search and indexing Hi, Search index is not working as expected. Specifically in Outlook 2007 it fails to find contacts which are clearly present. I have tried stopping the service completely and restarting it. I have tried rebuilding it using the rebuild command in the advanced tab of the Indexing Options. The rebuild got to 280,000 and then restarted from scratch on its own. I have chosen to search most of my PC as a restricted indesx is useless to me. I have also chosen to change the index location to a different partition with loads of space in the Advanced Options dialogue. But this doesn't seem to have worked properly although it's difficult to tell what is going on. The current location remains "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft" and the New location, after service restarted is "D:\Microsoft Search Files" - despite restarting the PC these entries remain unchanged. Any advice would be very welcome. Thanks, Nigel |
